What a day! The babies had so much fun and there were so many of our family and friends. They loved their cake and were so cute eating it. They were a little hesitant at first, but then just dug in. I had been crying for weeks up until this day, not believing that they were actually going to turn 1. Every time I went to get something for the party or their presents, I would be teary eyed at the cash register. The cashiers just looked at me funny. The time goes by so fast. But I am enjoying every moment. They couldn't be any more enjoyable. They are so different. Gavin is so easy going he loves to figure things out and can play by himself for hours. Carter is a mamma's boy. He loves to interact with me, daddy and Jake (not so much with Gavin). He wants to be entertained. We are just getting started so stay tuned!

Park

We took two walks today, total of over 4 miles. One was to this park. The babies loved the swings and the slides.

Play Date

We had a play date with our twin group and went to an indoor playground. They babies loved the cars and the little roller coaster. It was tough because the older kids were just running all over the babies, but mamma was there to protect them. They are quite the troopers.

First park outing

We went to the park for the first time today. They had fun playing on the slide. It was so good to get outside. They love the fresh air.

Dinner Time

Sunday dinner we had a roast with mashed potatoes and gravy. The babies usually eat along with us now, but I thought I would try and let them eat themselves. By the time these pictures were taken, the spoons had long been gone, but they did get some bites in using their spoons. It was a big mess to clean up, but so worth it. They had a lot of fun and enjoyed some freedom to do something for themselves.



They have learned some simple commands and their favorite is "put your arms up". They were showing us their skills. Brett just kept saying it over and over, and every time they put their arms up. Too precious!

Daddy's Electronics

They secretly know that it drives daddy nuts for them to play with his equipment, so they keep going back for more! Also notice, a lot of the time that Carter and Gavin are playing together, they try and pretend that one another are not there. This is Carter trying to crawl right over Gavin. Gavin wasn't budging though.

Toys

The little guys think that anything but toys are actually toys. It is amusing to watch them and see what they choose to play with! This is Carter climbing in a box.

Kissing

We caught Gavin kissing the mirror. Unfortunately, we couldn't catch a picture of it, but you have to believe me when I say it was adorable. He has also started puckering up for us when we ask for a kiss. So much fun!

Bath & Grooming Time

The babies LOVE their bath time! It is the getting dressed, cutting nails, brushing hair stuff that they hate.

FHE

I don't know how successful we are, but we try to hold FHE. We read out of the Antiguo Testimento picture book, sing and pray.

Nice Days

They were looking on with envy, wanting to get outside and play.


Daddy listened!

Stairs, REALLY?!?

They can basically run up the stairs faster than me now. We just have to work on how to get down!

Little Helpers

My little guys are always such big helpers, always at mommy's side to do laundry, vacuum the floor, do the dishes, etc.

Good Night

It is so fun to get them up from their beds, they have these huge smiles to greet me. Although this one is putting them to bed tonight, we caught them smiling until we turned out the lights. . .

11 months

I have so much to catch up on, but I have got to start somewhere. My babies are 11 months old and I have not taken enough pictures of their first year. So . . . I am going to take a photo a day (and post it) for their last month under one. I will get better, so keep posted!


They were waiting at the window for Jake to come home from school. Please don't pay attention to the pile of junk in the dinning room.
